לא הרבה יודעים שג‘יי ג‘יי אברמס, הלוא הוא יוצר ומפיק הלהיט ”אבודים“, יצר והפיק לפני כן, ובסופה גם ביחד איתה, את הסדרה הזאת, ”זהות בדויה“, שאיכותה אינה פחותה, אם לא אף גבוהה מזו של ”אבודים“. בנוסף, תוכלו לזהות שם מדי פעם את טרי או‘קווין, הלא הוא ג‘ון לוק מ“אבודים“. סידני בריסטו (ג‘ניפר גארנר) היא צעירה העובדת 7 שנים בענף סודי ביותר של ה-CIA, שנקרא SD-6. לאחר שהיא מספרת לארוס שלה את האמת על עבודתה, SD-6 מגלים זאת, וראש הענף, ארווין סלואן (רון ריפקין), מורה על חיסולו. לאחר שהיא פוגשת בהפתעה את אביה, ג‘ק בריסטו (ויקטור גארבר), אותו היא כמעט ולא מכירה, הוא מספר לה את האמת, ש-SD-6 הוא אינו ענף של ה-CIA אלא אויבו הנורא, חלק מרשת ענקית של טרוריסטים, ברית ה-12, שהוא עובד בשבילם ונגדם היא חשבה שהיא פועלת. הוא גם מספר לה שהוא למעשה סוכן כפול, גם שלהם וגם של ה-CIA האמיתי. סידני בעקבות זאת, הופכת להיות גם היא סוכנת כפולה של ה-CIA, במטרה אחת ויחד עם אביה: לנקום בסלואן ולהפיל את SD-6.
